Loving our new rooms!!!

One of my really good friends helped me put these cute little sayings together. I promised her that when I got them all hung I would post them so she could see them. I wish she lived closer so she could just come and see them. So here ya go!! Abby's new room and Chase's new room. Thanks Melissa for all your help. And thanks to Talia for the cute vinyl letters. I love my friends!!! We had another little photo shoot with Abby only and did some way cute stuff so stay tunned for the next post which should be coming soon.

I also needed to add in some of the funny things Abby has said lately....
Tonight after Abby said her prayers she says to me, "now Jesus and Heavenly Father are Happy."
I said, "Why are they Happy?"
Abby said, "Because we said our prayers."
I said, "You're right."
Abby said, "But Heavenly Father and Jesus live a long long ways away,"
I said, "Yes they do. They live in Heaven."
Abby said, "We will have to go see them in a rocket. Mom, we need to buy a rocket."
I guess I better start saving my money so that Abby can have a rocket!!!!!

Here is another one.....
I was preparing a lesson to sub for Abby's sunbeam class. I was telling the story of Jesus healing the blind man with the mud on his eyes to Ashton. Abby must have been listening....
I needed a blind fold for class so once I was finished preparing I tried it on Abby to see if it worked. I said, "Abby can you see?" She said, "NO." I then took it off and was putting it in my bag. She said, "Mom, I can see now and I didn't even need mud!!!"

Family Pictures

We had great time the other night taking family pictures. Tiffany did a great job! Thanks tiff for all of your hard work. We really appreciate it!!! I do have one problem though, I don't know which ones to use. And she is going to take MORE of Abby which I am so excited for. But I can't choose which are my favorites. Just when I think I have it narrowed down then I look at another and it changes my mind. You would never know it from the pictures, but Chase cried a lot in an hour and a half period. So much that we thought we need to reward the kids and went to get ice cream afterwards. Anyway, let me know your favorites. Maybe it will help me narrow down my favorties.
*Mom these are most of the good ones. I still have more family shots but they just didn't turn out because Chase or Abby had a bad face. I will still send you the disk, but know that these are most of the good ones!!!

Daddy Stays Home

So I wish that Ashton took as many pictures as I do, but he doesn't. So I will have to paint this picture as well as he described it to me. (I want the pictures for myself). Anyway, I had enrichment tonight with my new ward. It was great, and I had a lot of fun. It is always nice to have some adult interaction with out being interrupted (remember though, I do love my kids). I came home and the first thing I noticed was a weird smell. So I walked into the kitchen (it is about 8:30). Ashton was standing by the stove cooking himself some ramen noodles. We all know they don't have that strong of a smell, especially before adding the seasoning. I think Ashton could see in my eyes that I was curious. He said, "The stove top burnt the handle of the pan." (I guess we aren't used to the powerful burner that actually cooks, unlike the last house we lived in). The look on Ashton's face was not of frustration from the pan handle burning. He actually made it sound like the pan burning was a good thing.
The next thing I noticed was all of the bath toys in the kitchen sink soaking in warm soapy water. This is where Ashton about lost it. He asked me,
"did your kids just save it all up for me because they knew dad would be home tonight without mom?"
I then said, "Why?"
"Well first I put Chase in the bath. I walked in the other room to ask Abby if she was ready for a bath to which she said no. I walked back into the bathroom to check on Chase and he reaches up to me to hand me something. I go to grab it from him and realize it is not the only something. This something is all over the bathtub....Yes you guessed it. POOP!!!"
Now in Ashton's words he says there were about seven big floaters and fifteen small nuggets. Also there had to be a streak on the bathtub where he was sitting. He continued to tell me the story by saying,
"so I started scooping it all out into a diaper so I could throw it away." This is where I stopped him and said,
"you know that white thing next to the tub? It kinda looks like a toilet? It will flush poop!!!!"
"Ya, I didn't think of that. Thanks for the info a little too late." by this point of the story I can tell he is just thinking to himself, "why, why, why do they only do this when dad is home." So I stopped him and said to him,
"Welcome to my world....my life while you are at work isn't all ice cream and lollypops." (But I wouldn't give it up for anything)
The story goes on......and remember Abby is an Angel child she never does anything wrong. Okay not never, but very rarely!
Ashton says, "so as I am cleaning I realize that Abby is being awfully quiet. I go in to see what she is doing and she is covered from ear to ear and head to toe, including her hair, in lotion. I said to her, Abby what is all over you? Nothing dad!!"
That is Abby's answer to everything. If she knows she is in trouble, but doesn't want to be in trouble she says, "nothing." So Ashton had another lovely mess to clean up. The bad thing is that as he is telling me this story I am laughing out loud. I am sure he is not appreciating it. That is why I am writing it all down so that in a few weeks he can laugh at it.
I arrived home about 15 minutes after the kids had gone to bed. His messes were all cleaned up and what he thought would be a peaceful night would begin. This is when he realized he had fish sticks in the oven that were now charcoal. He resorted to the ramen noodles and then burnt the handle of the pan. The whole house smelt like overcooked fish, and burnt plastic.
All in all it was a good night (well for me anyway)!!!
I love my husband. He is such a great dad, and is my best friend. I know there is no one that could treat me better than he does. I love him more and more everyday. I think after tonight he deserves a guys night out!!!!
I love you Ashton!!!
