Pony Tail Kite

Our good friends Brett and Katie came to see the baby yesterday and brought Abby a whole bag of fun stuff. She was in heaven. She even woke up from her nap yelling for Katie to come get her instead of mom or dad. One of the goodies was a My Little Pony kite. Abby kept calling it her pony tail kite. After they left to go home she wanted to fly her kite so bad. Grandma stayed with Chase while Ashton and I took Abby to fly her kite. She loved every minute of it. We are so lucky to have such good friends here in Vegas.

Chase Bradley

Our nephews came down to see the baby and I felt so bad because they wouldn't let them come back to our room and we couldn't go out because of the security on Chase would set the alarm off. So Abby and the boys played out in the waiting room.

Baby Chase gave Abby a new baby boy doll (which she named chase). Abby doesn't play with dolls much so I was worried she wouldn't care. She loved it. Grandma took her home that night and she was concerned in the car that the baby had to be buckled up tight. When she got home she wrapped him up in a blanket that Grandma made her that is exactly like Chase's. She wrapped it just like they did in the hospital (swaddled) I didn't think she was even watching us wrap him. Then she put him to bed in the cradle by her bed to sleep. When they came to the hospital the next day she brought the baby with her. I think she is going to be an awesome big sister.

Abby was so excited to give Twinkle Twinkle dog to Chase. She played it for him a lot when he was in my tummy. When he was crying yesterday we turned on the dog and put it by him. He instantly stopped crying and turned his head toward the dog. I told Abby every time she played it for him in my tummy that he loved it. Little did I know that he really did.

Chase was in the nursery having a bath when Abby first got there so Ashton took her to see him through the window.

He's Here

After a long day Chase Bradley is finally here. I thought it would go quicker seeing that I was a five when we came in this morning. At about noon the nurse said she had broke my water. A couple hours later I was at a six. Very discouraged that nothing was progressing (though I had an epidural so I wasn't in pain) I asked the nurse what was going on and why things weren't progressing. She decided to attach something to monitor my contractions internally instead of external. When she went to do this she realized that my water had not broken (which I kept trying to tell her that I didn't feel like it had but she was pretty confident that it had). At this point they broke my water and 15 minutes later I was ready to push. We had to wait another 25 for the doctor to get here which was the most uncomfortable of the whole day but still not bad. I pushed through three contractions about 10 minutes and he was here. He is now back getting a bath and Abby has not seen him yet. I will post some more pictures as soon as he comes back, but I wanted to update where we were. He was 9.3 lbs and 19 1/2 inches long. Full head of black hair as you can see and healthy as can be. We are of course proud parents. Again stay tuned for some more pictures.

Ready or Not Here He Comes

Bright and early here we are leaving for the hospital. The funny thing is that even though it was a scheduled induction I am having contractions on my own. I have not had "the pit" yet. They are giving me an epidural first so I get to start out numb YEAH!!! Contractions right now are about 3-5 minutes apart and we are just waiting for the anesthesiologist to come. I am dilated to a 5 and sitting pretty. Stay tunned for some sweet little baby pictures.

Last Days With Mom

I have been so sad that these are the last few days that I will have with just my Abby and me. I am very excited for this new baby, but worried about a lot of things too. So I have tried my hardest to make this week Abby week. On Monday we went to Bounce U with some of her little friends. She had a hard time at first and just wanted to watch everyone, but then she warmed up to the idea. We have been there before so I don't know what her problem was. She never did go down the big slide she just wanted to jump.

I told her to say cheese....I didn't know this was what I would get!!!

When she got up this morning I let her do everything she wanted. She picked her clothes out (and yes they match surprisingly). She got to pick what we had for breakfast. Then I told her we could do whatever she wanted today. She wanted to go to the butterfly park. She loves it there and I was not surprised that is what she picked. After she wore me out at the park I told her we could go where ever she wanted for lunch. She wanted to go to Old McDonalds. She thinks it is called OLD McDonalds, and I think it funny so again I didn't correct her. She sang Old McDonald the whole way there with every animal she could think of. When she ran out of ideas then she started asking me, "which one mom?" So I had to start picking animals.
When she saw Ronald McDonald she just started calling him Old McDonald. It is not very often we go to McDonalds because I prefer Burger King, so she was so excited to see different play place toys. One of them is a red car so of course it became Lightening MaQueen. She didn't even go down the slide. She just kept going up the stairs, driving the car, and then climbing back down to tell me how she was driving Lightening with actions and all.
I am exhausted, she just went down for a nap and I think I will do the same.
Tomorrow is the big day, I am excited and nervous all at the same time. I will keep you all posted as the event happens. I am scheduled to go in at 6 am so hopefully by the afternoon (or sooner please) he will be here and we will have some fun pictures.

Happy Easter

So I have had quite the last two weeks. My fridge died, and work situations are NOT good (long story). I walked out yesterday in tears and told them I was never coming back. A lot of that probably had to do with the pregnancy hormones, but none the less it sucked. So I have not posted for a while because I have been a little stressed, not because we have had a baby. He is still just in there cooking!!!

Easter was a lot of fun with Abby this year. First, we did the easter egg dye thing. She loved that as you can see from the movie. I helped her write her name on her egg and she was so proud of it. Before going to bed we all set out our easter baskets and told Abby the Easter bunny would come fill it with treats and hide it for her. The next morning I went in to get her out of her bed (still have to use the monitor cuz she wont come out on her own). She was standing up in her bed and said to me, "Mom, bunny Easter come????" I think we are raising a dyslexic child because she switches her words like that a lot, but I think it is cute so I usually don't correct her and I should. Anyway, we came downstairs and the easter bunny had hid the little chocolate eggs wrapped in colored tinfoil all over the house. She was in heaven. I kept telling her to find her basket so she would have something to put them in but she decided she would just stash them on the bar stool until she found her basket. She was a lot of fun to watch. Then we all got dressed up in our Easter clothes to go to church. Her dress instantly became her tinkerbell dress because it was green. She just kept saying she was tinkerbell.

So I come down stairs after church from changing my clothes to find Abby surrounded by wrappers and chocolate all over her fingers. I asked her if dad opened the candy for her. She replied very proudly, "Nope, I did it all by myself."

After church, since we live at least two hours from the closest family members, and the doctor didn't really recommend leaving town, we went out with some friends to the park and set up a little easter egg hunt for the kids. It was a lot of fun because she didn't get trampled over like she has been at all the big hunts we have been to. The weather was so nice we all ended up a little sun burnt, but we had a lot of fun.

Easter, Wait No St. Patricks Day

So on saturday I took Abby to an Easter egg hunt just in case this little baby decides to come early and then I miss Easter with her. We got up early and ventured out to Boulder City. The Easter Bunny looked a little creepy so when she told me she didn't want to sit on his lap I didn't force her. I don't think you could have paid me to sit on his lap if I was a little kid. I wish I would have gotten a picture of him. Anyway, the egg hunt was fun. It was cute to see her get the concept for the first year. They had plastic eggs hidden, but also had just candy. My child wanted nothing to do with the eggs (little did she know they had stuff inside), she went straight for all the candy. She was a pretty good little hunter.

Waiting for the get ready, set, go!!!

...and the hunt is on

"Just got to check and see what I got"

"Look mom, a bunny rabbit carrot"

Abby was so proud of all she found.

Afterwards, so that I could confuse the heck out of my child, we went to Henderson where they had a St. Patricks day celebration. This thing was huge. I couldn't believe it. These people really have a thing for St. Patricks day. There was not a person who was not dressed in green (except us). They first had a parade, not a short one either. This thing was two hours long. Good thing we hunted for Easter eggs for the first half of it. The part of the parade that we did see was good though. Abby loves parades and I can't figure out why because they don't even throw candy (I am sure there is some liability issues or something).

Abby and Adam watching the parade.

Every time the fire engines, motorcycles, or loud cars came by Abby had to cover her ears. "Too loud mom." But she still wanted to watch them.

After the parade and getting some quick lunch we walked to the carnival. They had a little area for the kids with jump houses, a petting zoo, and pony rides. Abby naturally heads straight for the animals. We looked at the baby goats, rabbits, and HUGE turkey until she saw the pony ride. She begged and begged to ride the horse. The kids had to go in there all by themselves and the lady helps them up on the horse. I really didn't think she would go by herself so I just kept saying, "Abby you have to do it all by yourself. Mom can not go in there with you." I think she thought that I had a problem understanding her because she just kept saying, "yes, by myself." I didn't want to pay for this thing and then have her throw a fit and fall off the horse. We waited in the long line while I just kept telling her she had to go by herself. We got to the front and she was so excited. She took off with the lady and never looked back to see where I was. I was amazed. The lady took her up to her pony and told her his name was mouse, and let her pet him. She set her up on the pony and Abby's huge grin didn't go away for the next five minutes. The part that killed me, other than her waving to me every time she came around, was when she got off. She came running out to me and said, "Mom I need to ride the horse just one more time." Of course I told her no and she was so upset (on top of the fact that it was nap time so the fit was a little worse than normal). We headed home and she was overly excited to tell dad when we got home about how she rode the horse ALL BY HERSELF!!! They grow up so fast, but I love every minute of it.

Baby Goat

Huge Turkey. I thought it would scare her, in fact it kinda scared me. She loved it and would laugh at it as it walked.

Kinda a boring movie, but I was a proud mom because she went all by herself!!!

Taking a Nap, or ABC's

So the time change is so hard for the little kids. They have this amazing internal clock. I put Abby down for a nap today at 1:30, which is actually about a half hour later than I usually do. She was silent for about 45 minutes so I figured she was asleep. I could hear her talking so I turned the monitor up to find her doing this over and over and over. Hey, at least she still hasn't come out of her room. If she wants to lay there and talk that is great with me.
So it is about a half hour after I made this last post and Abby is still singing. At least she moved off of the ABC's and is now singing twinkle twinkle.

I hope this is not the end of naps. Not right before the baby comes!!!

37 Weeks.....we're almost there

Abby and I caught the nasty cold that was going around so I have done absolutely nothing. Then all I did was play catch up after that so I haven't posted for a while. First, in the middle of our colds my office moved to a new location. This new place is huge and I feel like I have ran a marathon every day after I get home from work. At first I had a hard time with the move, but now that I am getting used to it, it is not too bad. The new office is very nice and as I get to know all the people there it is making it a lot easier. I still mostly see my same patients, but if I have a cancelation then they fill it with one of their patients. It is a little harder, but I only have two more weeks so I will not complain.
Last week at my doctors apt. things were looking good. Baby is healthy and from what he can tell is the right size (that is what he said about Abby and then she came out a little bigger than I would have liked). He said that I was dilated to 4cm and 70% effaced. For those of you who are now thinking, "k, so are you having the baby tomorrow?" The answer would be no. I walked around for a month with Abby dilated to a 3 and 50% effaced. She ended up coming about three days early. So I went to the doctor again today and sure enough I am exactly the same as last week. The baby has dropped and is all ready to go, but my bets are that I make it all the way to my induction date which is the 27th. I will keep you all posted, but I think we still have a few weeks.
Abby is as excited as can be. We talk about the baby often, and she blesses him every night in her prayers. There is nothing cuter than listening to a child's prayers. She is going to be a great big sister.

So I just put Abby to bed for her nap, or later in the day I would have forgot that she said this but it made be laugh. We were walking into the room and I said, "Abby do you need to go potty first before we go to bed?" She had just gone about a half hour ago that that is why I asked and didn't demand that she go. Usually she will just say, "no need to go potty." After I asked her this time she says to me, "no, probably just went." I had to laugh. I love the things they come up with.

Though I am not one to love having my picture taken, I figure everyone knows that pregnancy means, "NOT SMALL." I wanted to post a picture because I think I have like one photo of me pregnant with Abby. I have tried to be better with this baby, but still don't have many pictures, but I am okay with that. Here I am, baby and all at 37 weeks!!!

We just had Abby's hair cut. It was pretty much her first. She has had one other, but I think she was too little to remember it. This one was terrible, as was the first. She did not want her hair cut. We even took her to one of the kiddie places that had a car to sit in, and any movie that she wanted to watch. She still wanted nothing to do with it. I made her sit and she cried the whole time. After the fact I actually felt really bad that I did because that night was when she came down with a fever and started the five days of sickness. So I really think she just didn't feel good and wanted to go home to bed. I have tried to get a cute picture of her new haircut but she didn't want one. This is the best I could do and she is leaning up against me so you cant really see it. Hopefully we'll have better luck next time.
