Another New Baby

My sister in law (Ashton's sister Kristin) had her sweet little baby late friday night. Another healthy 8 lb 12 oz baby boy. His hair looks like it may be red (at least we are hoping). He has the cutest little mouth and chin with the LONGEST tongue I have ever seen. He likes to stick it out and show you how long it is too. I am so excited for him and Chase. They are three weeks apart, and are going to have so much fun together. They named him Cameron Benjamin (he and Chase have the same initials...kinda cool).
We had a little photo shoot. Chase was showing no signs of waking up. He was dead asleep and kept falling over onto Cam's shoulder. As soon as his head would touch Cam then Cam would start sucking on his head. "Food mom, give me food." Ya gotta feed that double chin.
Cam is on the left, and Chase is on the right.

They are sweet little babies. It is just amazing what miracles little babies are. I forgot what cute noises they make in their sleep (the squeaking and cooing, though Chase really like to grunt). Their perfect little lips, hands, and feet. The way they smell. Their ability to curl up into a ball and fit on your chest just perfect and sleep for hours. And even though I really enjoy my sleep, Chase has been awake from 4-6 am for the last week or so. He isn't fussy or upset, just awake. It is fun to sit there and look into his eyes in the dark. Just watching him look around the room perfectly content is something I would not give up for anything. (But ask me in another week and if he is still doing it I might change my mind). Being a mom is the greatest gift Heavenly Father has given me. It is such a blessing to have these sweet spirits come into our home and fill our lives with such happiness and innocence.

We Already Miss Grandma

We had such a good week with Grandma Debbie. She was such a help to me, and Abby had 24/7 entertainment. Hopefully I can live up to the attention that she has gotten these last two weeks from everyone.
The weather is so nice right now so we spent a lot of time outside. We went to the Floyd Lamb National Park. Abby wanted to touch the baby geese. We had to tell her that the mama wouldn't like that. She just watched them from a distance, but they did let her get pretty close.

She saw a lot of people fishing so she picked up a stick about 12 inches long that she thought she could fish with. Grandma had to hold her up so that she wouldn't fall in just trying to get her stick to touch the water.

Our neighbor brought Chase a present so of coarse Abby gets one too. I think she is going to want a lot of brothers and sisters if this is how it happens every time. She thinks it's Christmas. Everyone has been so good to her. Anyway, the neighbor gave her this sleeping beauty outfit. She immediately had to put it on and then went upstairs to find Grandma Debbie a crown too. They wore them the rest of the day. I had to bribe her to take it off for dinner, but Grandma forgot that she had a crown on and wore it all through dinner.

Abby had to take Grandma to the jumping place to show her all the fun stuff. She was so excited. Last time we went she wouldn't go down the big slide. This time she not only went down with us but also went down by herself. Grandma loved it there and asked the ladies out front if you can come play if you don't have a child with you. They just kinda looked at her like she was weird or something. Thats my mom....she knows how to have a good time. I can just see her showing up and jumping with whatever kids just happen to be there. She is such a great Grandma.

On Sunday Abby and my mom got up and let Ashton, Chase, and I sleep in. I haven't slept in forever so it was nice. When we got up they had made breakfast. They both had their aprons on and were making muffins. It was a great morning!!!

Every night Grandma gave Abby her bath. They had such a great time playing in the bath tub. This was the night before Grandma left right after the bath. Abby was so proud of her new lady bug pajamas that we had to take a picture. While the camera was out we got one of her and Chase. She is still such a great big sister and so far I am not worried about her at all. She has been such a good help and actually gets mad if he is crying and I go to pick him up or get his passy for him. She wants to do it by herself.

We took grandma to the airport and told Abby she had to go home on an airplane. As we were leaving the airport she saw a plane taking off and said, "there's Grandma Debbie's airplane." After watching it fly away then she said, "I need my Grandma Debbie." I promised that we would see her soon and so she was okay with it, but she was about in tears. We will be coming up to Logan area to visit April 23rd - May 2nd. Ashton is leaving us and going on a boys trip to california surfing so we said there is no way we are staying here alone. If anyone wants to get together I would love to. Just let me know. My mom still has to work on the weekdays so we really aren't busy during the day.

We are all doing well. Now the real life starts. No help, no grandmas, no entertainment for Abby. We very much appreciate all the help that both Grandma Prince and Grandma Debbie were. I know that I couldn't have done it without them. It is so nice to have such a wonderful family. We love you all!!!

A Tiger Named Lion

We are having a great time playing with Grandma Debbie. I haven't updated much, but I will once she leaves I just had to put this cute picture of Abby up. She got this new tiger from Grandma and loves it. It makes noises when it's sleeping (snores) and purrs when it's awake. It also makes a sucking noise when you feed it it's bottle. I asked her what her tigers name is and she said "Lion." I was laughing so hard because she knows that it's a tiger and even calls it her tiger, but when you ask it's name she always says Lion.

The Greatest Gift Ever

Our little guy had to go in for the big manly surgery on Wednesday. I was so glad that Ashton was able to come with me. I thought I was going to be brave and stay in the room. As soon as they brought in the thing they strap him down on I was gone. I couldn't even imagine seeing him strapped down. Well, after all was done and he wondered what they heck had just happened to him I thought I would give him a present for being so brave. Abby didn't nurse very well so this time I am doing all in my power to make this one work. I could tell from day one that he loved to suck. Even if he isn't hungry he is searching for something until he finds his hand, finger, blanket, clothes, whatever he can find basically. I didn't want to give him his passy until the feedings were going well. I think we are doing quite well at this point so I gave him a little present after his surgery. He LOVES it and that is an understatement. Abby never took a passy and never really put anything in her mouth at that stage when they want everything in their mouth. She just wasn't one to care to have anything in her mouth so it is different to actually have a child that will take the passy. I don't think anything would ever make up for the pain we put him through, but I thought I would try my hardest. He is now a week and two days old. At his check up he weighed 8 lbs 15 oz (75%) and was 20 1/2 inches long (54%). So him and Abby are going to be totally opposite of each other. She is tall and skinny (always been above 95% for her height and in the 50%'s for weight) Chase is going to be one chunky kid (short and chubby). That is how a baby should be though. I just want to kiss his double chin and huge cheeks every minute. Everything is going well to this point. Grandma Debbie just got here last night and Abby is now in heaven. She had a great time with Grandma Prince and felt a little deprived when she left. Now that she has got full and undevided attention again she is loving it. Thanks you for all the congrats....it is nice to be able to share pictures with family and friends while we live so far away. Hopefully we will see all of you soon!!!

"I just want my passy mom"

"This thing is the greatest!!!"

Preschool Talent Show

So I asked Abby what she wanted to do for her preschool talent show. She first told me she was good at puzzles (which she is) but I thought the kids might all be a little board watching her do a puzzle so I tried to get something else out of her that she was good at. The whole object of it was to let the kids pick what they wanted to do or what they thought they were good at. She told me then that she wanted to dance. She did so good by herself. She was so excited to dance for all the other kids. The video of her on her own is just a little long so I posted one of her and Emma dancing instead. They had so much fun "showing off" their talents.
